February is for lovers. In Minnesota it’s for those who love outdoor events. It’s been unseasonably warm this winter, but the first week of February is on track to be nice and cold. Perfect for the end of the Winter Carnival, Crashed Ice and the Winter Beer Dabbler. Of course there are other events in the Twin Cities this February that take place indoors like the Healthy Life Expo and Doggie Depot. St. Paul Winter Carnival
When: January 26th – February 5th, 2017
Where: Various Locations in the Twin Cities
Join fellow winter lovers for the 131st Saint Paul Winter Carnival, the “Coolest Celebration on Earth™” since 1886! It continues to bring family-friendly events and community pride to Saint Paul and the Twin Cities metro area. The Saint Paul Heritage and Festival Foundation manages and produces the Saint Paul Winter Carnival.
Frozen Film Festival
When: Thursday, February 2nd, 2017
Where: Landmark Center

The festival will celebrate Independent Film, while enhancing the global recognition of St. Paul, MN as an artistic center for the Midwest, and a future filmmaking destination and hub for the indie and mainstream world. The mission is to utilize the festival as a catalyst for continued economic growth and stability in the downtown Saint Paul areas.
Red Bull Crashed Ice
When: February 3rd and 4th, 2017
Where: St. Paul Cathedral
For the past five winters, Saint Paul has hosted the ice cross downhill competition, with huge crowds of more than 100,000 people converging under the gaze of the imposing Cathedral of Saint Paul to witness the high-speed action that features skaters competing in four-man heats in a race to the bottom of a long ice track filled with obstacles. The sport appeals to what Americans like most in sports – a physically challenging, rough, tough sport coupled with high-speed action and agility.
Doggie Depot
When: Saturday, February 4th, 2017

On Saturday, February 4th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Union depot will go to the dogs and be the bark of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival. Join Union Depot, Sidewalk Dog, myTalk 107.1, KS95 and sponsor Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota for the doggie event of the year at Union Depot. Representatives from Sidewalk Dog will be on hand to share tips with guests about the Twin Cities’ most pet-friendly restaurants, retailers and more. The event is free and open to the public and guests are encouraged to bring their dogs to Union Depot for this special event.
